Radio frequency nerve ablation

Radio frequency nerve ablation is a procedure where small sensory nerves are exposed to high frequency electric current heating it to 80 degrees C. Destruction of only the small sensory nerves gives up to two years of relief without affecting the strength or sensation in patient’s arms or legs. It is used for the treatment of chronic neck or low back pain originating from the spine joints or from the joints in the pelvis, called sacro iliac joints. We use the same procedure to treat chronic pain in the chest wall caused by shingles or post surgical scarring.
